About Us
Queen's Hyperloop Design Team (QHDT) is a team comprised of over 100 like-minded students who share a vision for changing the future of transportation. We leverage the amazingly talented students within the Queen's community to work in a cross-functional team, striving towards one goal: make the Hyperloop a reality.
Founded in 2015, we are an award-winning engineering design team under the Queen’s Engineering Society and AMS. Previously, we placed first place at the 2023 Canadian Hyperloop Conference (now Hyperloop Global), published the most papers at the 2023 European Hyperloop Week as the only North American team, and ranked in the top 1% at the 2019 SpaceX Hyperloop Competition. We're returning to the international stage again in 2024, and want you to help us carry this success into 2025 and the future.

Position Description
We are hiring a director of mechanical design for the 2024 - 2025 season! Responsibilities will include collaborating across the team, contributing to major team decisions, monitoring progress and keeping sub-teams on track to achieve goals. You will work directly with the captains as well as sub-team managers working on mechanical projects contributing to the design and manufacturing of our hyperloop pod. You will oversee managers working on braking, propulsion, chassis/aeroshell, suspension and overall system design.
