The Queen’s Biomedical Innovation Team (QBiT) is an interdisciplinary design team that designs, prototypes, and tests new, innovative biomedical devices to address healthcare concerns both globally and in our local community.

For the 2025-26 school year, QBiT will be working on 3 projects related to global health:

Position Description:
The Director of Business will report to the Chief Operating Officer. This role involves identifying and pursuing entrepreneurial or business-oriented competitions relevant to QBiT projects. The Director will help produce applications and presentations to showcase the commercial potential of QBiT’s biomedical innovations.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching and identifying business or entrepreneurship competitions (e.g., pitch competitions, startup showcases)
  • Leading the development of applications and presentations for business-focused competitions
  • Collaborating with project teams to understand commercial applications of their work
  • Regularly attending operations meetings and providing updates

Ideal qualities:

  • Interest in entrepreneurship, business development, or commercialization
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Organized and proactive
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Interview info:

Interviews will take place during the weekends of May 23rd to 25th and May 30th to June 1st.
