Design Outreach Coordinator
Interested in being involved in projects with Formula Racing? or Space Engineering? Robotics? what about Biomedical Innovation? What about all the above and more. There are currently 18 design teams ratified under the Engineering Society (EngSoc) each with their own incredibly unique and interesting projects. Headed by the Director of Design, the design committee oversees all 18 design teams and includes three positions: Design Logistics Coordinator, Deputy of Design, and Design Outreach Coordinator.
For the position of Design Outreach Coordinator, we are looking for any highly driven student with great communication skills (verbal and written), strong organization skills and a positive and outgoing attitude to help with coordinating outreach efforts for design teams. Experience with social media/photography/graphic design, creativity and passion for design are considered assets for this role. You will be responsible for the social media accounts of the design committee and be responsible for promoting events, showcasing interesting design projects, increasing awareness of design teams and generating excitement around design teams. You will work closely with the teams under supervision from the Director of Design. This role has the potential to leave a large impact on design teams in the future and has a lot of freedom in terms of how you would like to do things.
This role has lots of responsibility but will be a very interesting role and is a great opportunity to get involved with design teams and gain some very valuable experience. It also has the potential to be whatever you want to make it!
Design Outreach Coordinator responsibilities are:
- To promote events such as Design Team Showcase and Design Team Open House
- Manage design committee social media accounts
- Garner excitement for design teams and raising awareness of design team projects
- Coordinate with Design Logistics Coordinator and Director of Design
- Increase awareness and participation in design teams through whatever means you see fit!
Design Outreach Coordinator requirements are:
- A passion for design teams and genuine interest in design team projects
- Strong organization and communications skills
- Creativity
- A social media presence, experience with photography, or experience with graphic design will be considered assets but not required
This role is open to students from all faculties. This role will require roughly 1 - 3 hours per week time commitment and will be busier at certain times of the year when events are planned.
