Description
The Queen's Space Engineering Team (QSET) is a large multi-disciplinary team consisting of 100+ students from all engineering disciplines and various faculties. Our team will be designing a Satellite to enter the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge (for more information https://www.csdcms.ca/). The goal for this team is to launch a project into orbit to perform an actual mission in outer space.
The Communications Manager oversees the sub-system design of a duplex communication system that has a sufficient margin to close the link between a ground station operated by an amateur radio operator and QSET’s satellite. It is the responsibility of the Communications Manager to ensure that the QSET team can receive payload and telemetry data from, and transmit commands up to, the satellite. As the Communications Manager you will utilize various microcontrollers, transceivers, amplifiers, filters, and antennas to build this system under the mechanical and electrical constraints of a 3U CubeSat supported by your sub-system team.
The Queen’s Space Engineering Team encourages applications from women, visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ2S+ community. If you require accommodations during the interview process, please contact qset @ engsoc.queensu.ca.
