Description
The Queen's Space Engineering Team (QSET) is a large multi-disciplinary team consisting of 100+ students from all engineering disciplines and various faculties. Our team will be designing a Satellite to enter the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge (for more information https://www.csdcms.ca/). The goal for this team is to launch a project into orbit to perform an actual mission in outer space.
The On-Board Computer (OBC) Manager is responsible for managing a team of students tasked with the development of an OBC and collaborating with the other six technical executive members towards completion of a full 3U CubeSat throughout the 2023-2024 academic year. The OBC system is the network that manages all the other subsystems on the Satellite. This position involves working with microprocessors, memory banks, and interfacing chips to design and build a computer board to connect to other sub-systems and perform the necessary tasks of the satellite.
The Queen’s Space Engineering Team encourages applications from women, visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ2S+ community. If you require accommodations during the interview process, please contact qset @ engsoc.queensu.ca.
