The main goal of the Industry Relations Committee: Provide Queen’s engineering students with the opportunities and resources to help them connect with and stand out to employers.

Description:
The Industry Relations Committee provides resources and opportunities for Queen’s engineering students to network with employers and develop professional skills prior to graduation. The committee is responsible for maintaining and growing the relationships between Queen’s undergraduate engineers and industry representatives from a large variety of companies. The Industry Relations Committee work closely with staff in the FEAS Corporate Relations Team to organize company information sessions for students. The committee is also responsible for running the Professional Development Team’s resume review service. Applicants should be motivated, eager to learn new skills, and work well in a team setting.

Note: No experience is required for this position. You will have the opportunity to expand your professional development knowledge in this role.

Key responsibilities of the committee include:

  • 🤝🏻 Maintaining and growing relationships with industry professionals
  • 🗣️ Coordinating networking events and information sessions
  • 📝 Running the resume review service
  • ✍️ Developing resources for students such as cover letter guides, networking guides, etc.

Time commitment:

  • 🗓️ 1 weekly meeting with the Industry Relations Committee
  • 📌 Additional time spent organizing industry events with your teammates
