Description

The Queen's Space Engineering Team (QSET) is a large multi-disciplinary team consisting of 100+ students from all engineering disciplines and various faculties. Our team will be designing a Satellite to enter the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge (for more information https://www.csdcms.ca/). The goal for this team is to launch a project into orbit to perform an actual mission in outer space.

The Electrical Power System (EPS) Manager is responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of the power systems that generates, stores, and distributes power to the Satellite. The EPS manager must work closely with the other subsystem managers to ensure project coordination. The EPS is a solar rechargeable lithium-ion battery system that creates enough power to support the satellite during operation. You must take into consideration the hazards of the design (i.e., overcharge, undercharge, short circuit, etc.) to ensure safe and reliable operations of the power supply.

The Queen’s Space Engineering Team encourages applications from women, visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ2S+ community. If you require accommodations during the interview process, please contact qset @ engsoc.queensu.ca.
