About QEC

The Queen’s Engineering Competition (QEC) is an annual event that allows engineering students from different disciplines attending Queen’s University to compete in a variety of engineering competition categories. QEC showcases the innovation and creativity of Queen’s Engineering students, throughout a weekend of good-natured competition. The winners of each category are selected to compete at the Ontario Engineering Competition (OEC), where they compete for cash prizes and a chance to attend the Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC).

Below are the general requirements and details that apply to the position. The First Year Rep will be reporting to the Co-Chairs throughout the work term.

General Requirements

  • An eagerness to put forth quality work
    • Work term will be from September 2023 to November 2023.
    • Passion for creativity and innovation in STEM
    • Excellent management and organizational skills
    • A highly driven and optimistic mentality
    • Nice to have qualities:
      • An influential personality with a passion to promote QEC to the student body

    First Year Rep Requirements

    • Effectively advertise QEC to fellow first years
    • Collaborate with other departments by providing insights
    • Assist as needed during competition day
