The Queen’s Biomedical Innovation Team (QBiT) is an interdisciplinary design team that designs, prototypes, and tests new, innovative biomedical devices to address healthcare concerns both globally and in our local community.

Position Description:
The Director of Science will report to the Chief Operating Officer. This role involves identifying and preparing applications for science, biomedical, and engineering competitions relevant to QBiT projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching and identifying science, engineering, and biomedical competitions (e.g., design showcases, academic challenges)
  • Leading the development of applications and scientific presentations for competitions
  • Collaborating with project teams to gather technical content and data
  • Regularly attending operations meetings and providing updates

Ideal qualities:

  • Strong interest in biomedical engineering, science communication, or research
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Organized and proactive
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Interview info:

Interviews will take place during the weekends of May 23rd to 25th and May 30th to June 1st.
