Job description:
Science Quest is a not-for-profit student run service run through Queen's Engineering Society. From the end of June to August, 10 week instructors will develop and deliver STEM based summer day-camps for children ages 4-14. Science Quest looks to provide inclusive and barrier-breaking STEM initiatives to the Kingston community and the surrounding communities, and career-building opportunities to Queen's students.
The major roles of the Science Quest 10-Week Instructor include:
- Maintaining positive relationships with Queen's and the greater Kingston community
- Following all EngSoc policy as related to the service
- Supervision and instruction of campers
Skills and interests that will be considered an asset for this position include:
- Strong leadership skills
- Enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards networking
- Demonstrated interest in STEM education
- Strong ability to research and learn independently
- Ability to motivate self, other instructors, and work in groups
- Creative problem-solving and improvisational thinking skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of age groups and ability levels

Work Term:
- Mid June 2023 to end of August 2023 (camp will conclude before 2023 O-Week)
Salary/Time Commitment:
- The position will be paid $17.17 per hour. Estimated hours: maximum 35 hours/week
- Salary is non-negotiable
