The Tea Room Head Manager will oversee all operations of The Tea Room as well as lead the Café's management team and staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hiring both Assistant Managers and staff
  • Creating a strategic plan and operational budget for the business year
  • Driving overall strategic direction of the Tea Room and facilitating long-term planning
  • Performing financial and operational reviews
  • Planning and coordinating staff training
  • Support and oversee Assistant Managers in all aspects of their portfolios (Operations, Business, and Environmental/Marketing)
  • Maintain weekly communication with Assistant Managers and staff
  • Engaging students, alumni, administration, media, and other stakeholders to further the educational goals of the Tea Room
  • Monitor financial information, compile reports, and service record keeping
  • The Head Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the service during the summer
  • Scheduling staff shifts and dealing with day-to-day human resources issues of the business
  • Working regularly scheduled Supervisor shifts
  • Day-to-day operations (opening, closing, cash handling)

  • Engineering Society Director of Retail Services
  • Engineering Society Vice-President (Operations)

Work Term:

  • May 1st, 2025 to April 30th, 2026
  • This is not a paid position during the summer, however, a strategic plan and budget must be created during the summer

Salary/Time Commitment:

  • $345 Week Salaried
  • 20 hours expected per week
  • Salary is non-negotiable
