Description

The Queen's Space Engineering Team (QSET) is a large multi-disciplinary team consisting of 100+ students from all engineering disciplines and various faculties. Our team will be designing a Satellite to enter the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge (for more information https://www.csdcms.ca/). The goal for this team is to launch a project into orbit to perform an actual mission in outer space.

The Payload Manager leads the payload sub-team, which is responsible for designing the subsystem that executes the mission of the satellite. Currently, QSET’s satellites have an earth observation mission where the primary payload is an optical imager, a custom camera system to take a low-resolution picture of Earth. This payload is variable and will likely be updated with future competitions.

The Queen’s Space Engineering Team encourages applications from women, visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ2S+ community. If you require accommodations during the interview process, please contact qset @ engsoc.queensu.ca.
