The Queen's Engineering Sustainable Solutions and Technologies (QUESST) competition is an exciting initiative designed to foster a culture of innovation and equip Queen's students with the skills and drive to tackle pressing global challenges. By participating, students are not only indulging in academic design but are engaging deeply with real-world problems centered around sustainability. The event uniquely bridges theory with practice, allowing students to apply their classroom-acquired knowledge in tangible ways, driving them to think critically whilst participating in some friendly competition. QUESST also offers a platform for professional growth as participants will connect with industry experts, gaining invaluable mentorship and networking opportunities. By emphasizing teamwork and multifaceted problem-solving, QUESST not only nurtures technical proficiency but also interpersonal skills and cross-disciplinary understanding.
Finance Director: In the role of the finance director, you will be responsible for creating the general budget for the year and organizing and keeping track of revenue and expenses. You will also collaborate with the Sponsorship and Logistics Directors to ensure that all financial decisions are in line with our overall goals and objectives. The ideal candidate for this role should have an interest in finance and be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You should also have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to facilitate adherence to the predetermined budget while still achieving our goals. In addition to financial management, you will be responsible for providing regular updates to the leadership team, as well as assisting with fundraising efforts as needed.
