Ahoy! Want to sail the seven seas? Do you have a passion for the environment, climate change, or sustainability? Get involved in aQuatonomous’ Ecological Science and Water Research subteam where you will lead a diverse team to create water research related projects using the autonomous surface vessel (ASV/robotic boat) built by the other subteams! The goal of the team is to create super cool projects while also developing hands on research skills! Your main job will be lead the team through the whole process of creating and doing a research project(s) as well as to communicate with Co-Captains as well as other external groups to ensure the project(s) go as smoothly as possible.

🧠 We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong communication skills and time management skills.
  • Is ready to take on a founding role on the ecological sciences team.
  • Can facilitate collaboration with external companies, labs, and student groups.
  • Has an interest in ecological conservation and water research.

🌊As the Ecological Sciences and Water Research (ESWR) Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining the ESWR team and its mission in collaboration with the Co-Captains.
  • Creating projects for the ESWR team, and working with the engineering team leads to make your projects possible (through the attachment of sensors or research payloads).
  • Connecting with local water and ecological researchers regarding the use of the ASV as a research platform.
  • Using aQuatonomous as an organization to promote ecological conservation and water research.
