The Queen’s Biomedical Innovation Team (QBiT) is an interdisciplinary design team that designs, prototypes, and tests new, innovative biomedical devices to address healthcare concerns both globally and in our local community.

For the 2025-26 school year, QBiT will be working on 3 projects related to global health:

Position Description:

1 Chief Technical Officer (CTO) will be hired. The role of the CTO is leading and overseeing the technical aspects of the projects. They will help Project Managers continually assess the feasibility of their projects, and access the resources required to finish projects in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Keeping track of on-going tasks for the technical projects and sub-teams
  • Assisting in the planning of skill building workshops for general members
  • Maintaining a current inventory of QBiT’s supplies, and oversee the collection of ordered materials
  • Helping project managers and general team members with any technical issues they might encounter
  • Communicating with professors, graduate students, etc for technical inquires
  • Regularly attending executive meetings and providing updates
  • Overseeing the project managers for all projects

Ideal qualities:

  • Technical knowledge and experience in mechanical, computer or electrical engineering
  • Commitment to the technical teams and QBiT as a whole
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Excellent teamwork
  • Strong problem solving skills

Interview info:

Interviews will take place during the weekends of May 23rd to 25th and May 30th to June 1st.
