Are you interested in academic advocacy and improving the engineering education at Queens? Do you have a passion for working in teams, faculty relations, networking, project management and leadership? If you answered yes to both these questions than you should apply for the BEDFund Discipline Club Coordinator! In this role, you will work with the BEDFund Committee (which includes the Director of Academics, Marketing and Outreach Coordinator and Head Manager) to improve the operation of the BEDFund, an endowment fund designed to give Queen's Engineering students access to high-quality learning resources.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Monthly meetings with the discipline heads and BEDFund reps.
- Being the main point of contact between the disciplines and the BEDFund Committee.
- Assisting the disciplines with their BEDFund proposals.
- Developing connections with discipline reps, building managers (such as Stirling and the ILC), and professors.
- Making suggestions on useful proposals that will provide the greatest benefit to the students in each discipline.
- Attend biweekly BEDFund Committee meetings
- Review BEDFund proposals with the rest of the team and decide which proposals to approve.
Estimated time commitment: 3-5 hours/ week.
