The Conference on Industry and Resources: Queen’s University Engineering, one of Queen's longest standing conferences, aims to show engineers the versatility of the engineering degree and the wide spectrum of job opportunities.
CIRQUE connects motivated students with leading industry professionals, who share their insights and experiences on career paths and how to succeed after graduation. CIRQUE aims to demonstrate the versatility of an engineering degree and to expose students to non-traditional engineering post-graduate roles. The conference also aims to connect engineering students with top employers and allow delegates to broaden their view of their postgraduate opportunities.
We are looking for organized, motivated, hard-working team players to work alongside committee members to create an engaging and professional conference experience. The executive team will be encouraged to problem solve and take initiative, with the goal of growing the conference.
Speakers Coordinator: must aim to bring in a diverse group of speakers for both individual speeches and a potential speaker panel. They must be sociable and pro-active in dealing with potential speakers and aim to create value proposition for them to come speak at the conference. Ideal candidates for this position should have very good interpersonal skills and persistent.
Logistics Coordinator: The Logistics Coordinator works with the executive team to finalize conference details. Your main responsibility is to book the conference venue and stay in constant contact with venue representatives to ensure that various aspects of the conference can run smoothly. The Logistics Coordinator is also responsible for creating the final schedule of the conference and planning meals for the weekend. Candidates for this position should ideally have excellent communication and organizational skills.
Sponsorship Coordinator: The main responsibilities for this position include reaching out to companies and professional organizations, writing applications for grants and bursaries, and contacting local businesses seeking partnership opportunities. An ideal candidate for this position must have excellent social skills and be very persistent with potential sponsors and present the value proposition of the conference!
Marketing Coordinator: Marketing Coordinator(s)) are an integral part of the Executive Team responsible for attracting delegates through effective marketing strategies. They will work to develop marketing material for CIRQUE and work closely with the Co-Chairs to ensure the marketing campaign is effective. The Marketing Team will utilize graphics/visual software to develop marketing material and effectively pass on information about the conference!
IT Marketing Coordinator: working with the marketing team, the IT Marketing coordinator works to keep the website and other social media sites up to date.
Delegates Coordinator: The delegates coordinator works with the logistics team to increase delegate interest in the conference and other events. They work to create the delegate package, and manage the advertising booths done before the conference.
