Are you interested in academic advocacy and improving the engineering education at Queens? Do you have a passion for marketing, event planning, working in teams and leadership? If you answered yes to both these questions than you should apply for the BEDFund Marketing and Outreach Coordinator role. In this role, you will work with the BEDFund Committee (which includes the Head Manager, Discipline Club Coordinator, and Director of Academics) to improve student engagement with the BEDFund, an endowment fund created to improve Queen's Engineering students' access to high-quality educational resources.

Responsibilities in the position include:

  • Planning events to gather BED Fund suggestions and proposals from the student body.
  • Marketing the BED Fund and events.
  • Educating the student body on what the BED Fund is to increase awareness.
  • Attend biweekly BED Fund Committee meetings
  • Review BED Fund proposals with the rest of the team and decide which proposals to approve.

Estimated time commitment: 3-5 hours/ week.

    Technical skills (computer, social networks, etc.)
  • Good communication skills
  • Good team work skills

Additionally, experience with marketing, social media campaigns, or other outreach-related initiatives is an asset; however, this experience is not required for the role. All interested applicants, regardless of prior experience, are encouraged to apply!
