The Accessibility Advocate is responsible for promoting and ensuring physical accessibility within the Engineering Society, affiliated groups, and all society-related events. This role focuses on advocating for inclusive spaces that are accessible to all members of the community, regardless of physical abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advocate for Physical Accessibility: Work to identify and address barriers to physical accessibility within the Engineering Society, affiliated groups, and their events. Ensure that all society initiatives prioritize accessibility.
- Consult and Collaborate: Act as a resource and advisor to directors, event organizers, and affiliated groups to ensure venues, activities, and resources are physically accessible to all members.
- Promote Inclusivity: Raise awareness about the importance of physical accessibility and inclusivity in all society spaces and events through advocacy and educational efforts.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong passion for equity, inclusivity, and accessibility.
- Familiarity with physical accessibility standards and best practices.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all society members.
