Queen’s Knights Robotics Team (QKRT)

We are a close-knit, interdisciplinary group of ambitious students dedicated to creating advanced robots for the North American RoboMaster competition. Our team provides an inclusive environment for students to collaborate and explore the world of robotics. The Mechanical Design Lead position presents an opportunity for all students looking to develop themselves both as engineers and as leaders! All those who are interested are strongly encouraged to apply, regardless of prior experience.

Requirements:

• Interest in mechanical design and manufacturing of robots
• Experience with CAD is helpful, but not mandatory
• Applicants should be eager to learn, open-minded, and work well with others
• Possess leadership skills and can provide an exciting and valuable experience for general members

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing a mechanical design sub-team through various projects
• 3D modelling for competition robots
• Robot manufacturing, assembly, testing, and iterative design

Members will gain experience in:

• Mechanical design, specifically CAD with Onshape
• The iterative design process
• Robot assembly, testing, and prototyping
• Manufacturing methods, including additive manufacturing, machining aluminum and carbon fibre
