The Engineering Society’s Communications Team works to inform students about the activities of the Society and its respective services, resources, events, clubs, design teams, and conferences. This is achieved through traditional marketing, social media, photography, and videography.
As a general member of the Communications Photography Team, you will work alongside the Photography Manager to support the photography needs of the Society. The photos captured by the Communications Photography Team are used for ongoing promotions as well as maintained as memories for future years.
Candidates should have a strong interest in photography, although experience is not necessary. There is also the opportunity to take on your own photography projects to help promote the Engineering Society, in whatever way that is of interest to you!
The main responsibilities of a Photography Team General Member include:
Interacting with clients to fulfill photography requests (e.g., headshots).
Producing fun and interesting photography coverage of various events and promotions.
Attending biweekly static Photography Team meetings.
Continue growing the brand recognition and reputability of the Engineering Society and the Communications Team.
This position does not require any prior experience. Skills and interests that will be considered an asset for this position include:
Knowledge of editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom).
Strong communication skills including oral and written communication skills.
Time management and organizational skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to self-motivate and be a part of a team.
Additional Important Information
This position reports to the Communications Photography Manager.
The work term for this position is October 8th, 2023, to May 1st, 2024.
This position has a time commitment of 3-5 hours expected per week during the school term. Members will not be required to work on projects during exam periods and reading weeks.
